UPDATE: I bought the HG and I am very very very very impressed! It gets me the low gain tone/compression that I had in my head. It also works well with other amps that I plugged it to.

I thought about getting an LTD, but the thought of having a switchable channel like the Half Gainer got me thinking. I'd run one channel as a boost for the Direct Drive, then the other channel for a mild overdrive..

I'll be getting one soon. Are there different versions of the Half Gainer?

We should be finished training the electrons this week, if all goes well, they will know to sound more "complex" when they travel through cloth covered wire and 1000v "amp caps".

The sad thing is that if you marketed a special edition of the Half Gainer with a "special trained electrons mod", you could sell a bunch at twice the price.

I put my money down for the Half Gainer. It should arrive Thursday next week, then I'll have a rockin Friday evening.

You should have the "special trained electron mod" for every Barber pedal.
