Barber Unlimited

Hey guys,

This is my first post here, but I've been a Barber pedal fan for quite some time. I'm hoping I can get some advice. I recently sold my Barber LTD Silver to purchase an LTD SR. I absolutely love the pedal. To me it sounds more like an extension of my '66 Vibrolux Reverb than a pedal. I drive my amp on the verge of breakup and I use the LTD SR if I want a little more gain. I normally keep it at around noon. The thing is, I also love the sound of the pedal with the gain at around 3 o'clock. So my thoughts were to get another LTD SR and stack them together whenever I want a little bit more of a gain boost. However, now I see the Barber Unlimited (single and two channel) and I'm thinking this is the right way for me to go. If I like the sound of the LTD SR with the gain up very high, will I like the Barber Unlimited? I'm thinking I'd pick up the two channel while I can still find it.

I have a Direct Drive, but I only seem to bond with it when using it for leads. For rhythm, I just can't dial it in to give me the sound I want.

The unLTD does a great medium gain. The LTDsr does a great low gain. The dual Unltd set for a "3:00 LTDsr gain" will not sound quite the same. For that reason I went back to a single unLTD unit. Thus having each pedal dedicated to what it does best. But...the mid control is highly desirable on the dual unit. And with both the sr and dual unltd, that would give you 3 flavors of OD. :D

Thanks! So It looks like I'll have to try to get my hands on the single. I like the flat mid eq on the LTD SR, so that mid knob on the two channel might not be something I really care to mess with.

Crap. Well it looks like I'll be making a 3 hour drive to a store that carries Barber near me.

That circuit is still searching for its final format. I like both the single and double, both have been very well received.

Would that statement also apply to the original lower-gain LTD series, as well? 'Cause I know people are lovin' the 1/2 Gainer, too. But, FWIW, I like my separate (single) LTDs and unLimiTed.

The LTD and SR are available single and the 1/2 Gainer covers both well as a double pedal.
