Volume issue with Barber DD

Hi everyone. I am having a strange issue with my barber DD. I am using it with humbuckers and vox ac4tv combo with a cheap Celestion speaker. When I keep the volume of DD around 9:00(roughly 30% of volume) it sounds fine, but when the volume is increased to noon it sounds a bit unpleasant(the overdrive is not as smooth) and this happens all amp settings. Is this because of my amp/speaker? Will an external 12 inch speaker help or should I tweak the internal trimpots(right now they are presence full, bass full)? Please help me.

I have gone through the link. I guess I should move this topic to the "Nuts and Bolts" section, but I don't know how to do it. So, I'm adding this topic to that section.

Thanks

Do you turn your guitar's volume down when you play, or are you an "always up" player? What happens when you plug into the Pathfinder?

Thanks for your support :) . Mostly I have the guitar volume all the way up, but occasionally for clean I turn the volume down. Also the problem seems to happen when guitar volume is all the way up. I'll check the DD with the Pathfinder and let you know what I find.

With the pathfinder the problem is still there but to a lesser extent. Anyways, I have fixed the problem by turning the drive and tone of the DD and the AC4tv's tone down a bit when I am keeping the volume of the DD high.

Many Thanks.
