Too many irons in the fire! :D

I just need to finalize the graphics and drill some enclosures...it's been done forever, but keeps getting pushed aside because of silly interruptions.

I'm deliberately not going to buy one now in protest of the long wait!!!!! - I shall maintain this position at least until the point that they are available

DD DC question

Postby David Barber » Wed Nov 13, 2013 10:40 pm

Direct Drive Dual Channel question (DDDC). This is a tech question for the feature freaks:

Would you rather have a DDLG channel (low gain) and a standard Direct Drive channel, or a standard Direct Drive with a channel of normal harmonics, and the second channel set for high harmonics?

If too many things need to switch per channel it will become a Dual Discrete instead of a DDDC, that's an important distinction.

If the Low gain and standard gain option is most desirable, what harmonics setting would you like to see them share, both normal harmonics, or high?" something in between?

I understand it would be neat to have each channel have switchable harmonics and gain config, but that means two separate OD circuits which bumps up the price and makes it a Dual Discrete...which we already make!

DD-LG & standard would be most versatile. Common harmonics would have to be "in between", though—I always find that I like higher harmonics on the LG, and lower harmonics on the regular. This is one reason I love my compact DD, because I can flip the switch(es) and have what I want.

I see what you're saying about the Dual Discrete. In fact, before your compact DD came along, I was this close to just ordering a DD-LG/DD Dual Discrete. Can't the guys who are calling for Dual Direct Drive just order that? It does sort of seem like you'd be building near-redundant products at that point.

DDLG and Standard DD both with High harmonics, I leave the harmonics on high all the time with the CDD.

Thanks for the responses! From our Facebook page it was pretty universal that people wanted LG/DD format more than simply switching harmonics along with channels. I'm glad I asked!
