Is it possible to convert a Direct Drive to a Direct Drive LG? I want to have a back up for Direct Drive LG but haven't been able to find one. If it's posible is it something I can do myself? I'll get a used Direct Drive and mod it to be a LG.

It's possible, you just use the DD LG you have as the model, then carefully snip out the parts on the standard DD that don't match and install the correct parts. It's really up t your skill level with electronics and and soldering iron.

why not just get a used or new Compact Direct Drive, 2 pedal tones in one. The DD LG tones are excellent in the CDD.

Let me tell you what I've done in a effort to save a little space on my board. :o

First I bought a Dual Discrete, a red one, beautiful looking pedal, with a DD and a DDLG, couldn't get the same tone from it as the individual pedals.
Next I bought 2 of the CDD's, couldn't get the same tone.
Next I bought a DD/DC, guess what couldn't get the same tone.

I can get very close with all the above pedals but I've been using the DD and the DDLG for a number of years and I'm just so used to those individually and stacked that anything else I try just doesn't sound right. That combo of OD pedals has sounded great thru whatever amp I've had over the years, I use them now thru a Peavey Bandit 65, a Rivera R5512 and an Allen Accomplice 1X12, they sound great thru all off them.

It's mainly the DD tone that I doesn't work for me in the new pedals. They just don't sound as fat as the one I've been using. Maybe it's all in my head but I'm now thinking that maybe I should have backups for them and I'm having a difficult time finding a DDLG for sale. No doubt when I get a another DD and DDLG they won't sound the same to me. Don't know what I'll do then. :D

BTW, the Compact Tone Press replaced the regular Tone Press on my board and the tone was great, maybe a little better than the old one.

I can do that, I didn't think of that.
