flat EQ gain changer question

Dave
perhaps you could explain in layman terms what "flat" means in the two GC toggle settings and how it affects the tone control in a different manner from the LTD toggle setting?

"Flat EQ" means that the OD sound sounds very close to the bass, midrange and treble levels of the bypassed signal. Guitar players often want an overdrive that does not suddenly lose bass, most kids etc. Flat EQ overdrive find a balance the sounds very much like the bypass tone with the exception of added harmonics and sustain.

Not exactly, but's it's in the ballpark. The harmonics that are being added by distortion/overdrive can be greater or lesser at certain frequencies depending on the source. The source is the guitar, pickups, strings, pick etc. That all adds up to subtle changes, but it can be compensated with the tone knob. Most players achieve a tone that sounds like "flat response" between 11 to 1 o clock.
