Dual Discrete Switching

Postby melodic-1 » Sun Feb 21, 2010 10:15 pm

Is it possible to have an on/off switch and a switch that goes back and forth between the two instead of the side by side on/off conf.?
i think it would be killer to have like an LTD and a Direct Drive for solo's. or a Tone pump rhythm and Burn unit lead.........a Toneburn?
PRS DGT, Custom Strats, Gutted Bugera 1960 with Mercury Magnetics Transformers/ Turret board "sleeper Plexi"
Echoplex EP-3 ....and of course Barber pedal.

Curious.... all this does is take away your ability to stack them. Nothing is gained, something lost... ???

well to each his own I guess. There is something called an amp which tone and gain are also derived from. I'm using a Plexi with a 200watt Weber mass attenuator. i play gigs by putting the amp 3/4 up(full up it gets a bit mushy) and just rolling the volume up and down. Mostly to boost solo's I use a treble booster but I also like my LTD and Now I have a TonePump. At gig volumes and for my style this works great...doesn't wash out. Depending on the room I also set the amp clean and use pedals but driving a treble boost into these pedals get the same effect. Higher gain and clarity. Playing in my living room stacking high gain pedals sounds great....with the Fletcher Munson Curve going on I'll take my setup, switching back and forth would yield nice flavors. I could just sub the dirty bomb for the LTD for ridiculous gain, it's not my trip though.
