SR/SR-mod board Dual Discrete

Postby Humancapo » Sat Mar 20, 2010 3:44 pm

A huge thanks to Ronni and David for such a tonefull pedal. I received this pedal yesterday and immediately used it
at my gig last night. Wow! It's a Dual Discrete utilizing an LTD-Special Recipe into a LTD-Special Recipe with a mod board. The combination is very very musical. This gives me the my go-to LTD-SR tone, a version with a bit more crank to it and lastly the combination of the two which is definitely a ticket on the gain train. Again, Wow!

Here's some shots of pedal, sorry about the quality, but you get the idea.

Thanks J! The "stacked" sound was really impressive, Ronni did a nice job on that combo. The understated knob labels really is a nice touch. :)

Hey J,

That looks great and I'll bet it sounds even better than that.

Hi Thazy,

Yep, it really sounds killer. I really like the two versions in one box, plus the combination is
a very useable kick. The construction is over the top as always. Now I have to figure which board to
use it on!

Just curious--I thought the Dual-Discrete had the B-Custom logo and knob labels. Does yours not have the markings because it's in the Half-Gainer's hammertone box? (I would suspect it's hard to get the lettering on that textured finish.)

Actually I ordered it that way. I've had no problems remembering what knobs do what. :D

Need to figure out a way to use plexi-glass bottoms to show off all the fanciness inside...
G&L Legacy Special, PRS SE soapbar II, beefed up PV Classic50 4X10, Barber pedals, Budda Wah , Line6 green/blue F/X.
Then a bunch of studio stuff.

Maybe a limited-edition "Dan Armstrong series" of B-Customs, with plexiglass all the way 'round? That'd be cool--and would serve absolutely no purpose at the same time. Actually, with the ridiculous number of "boutique" (and wannabe-boutique) brands out there right now, I'm surprised somebody hasn't tried this already. "We make the most transparent overdrive EVER!" (*cue rimshot*)
