Tone Press w/ B-Buff

With my current rig I mostly use my Tone Press as a clean boost. I was wondering if I can use a B-Buff to give it some more ompf. I'd like to only use the B-Buff as a boost so that when I use the TP Volume knob I can adjust the overall volume from none to the max (depending of course on the trim pot.) Can this be done? BTW, I'm pretty handy with a soldering iron and have built lots of other DIY stuff over the years.

Thanks,

You could add an additional 20 db to the output of the Tone Press, although most things that follow that huge signal will clip....heavily! :D

I kind of figured that this could be done, but my question was more along the lines of confirming that it could be setup so that the TP Volume control can be used to smoothly go from silence to really loud.

Thanks,

Peter

Yes, that should work fine, just make the b-buff follow the output of the Tone Press.

Thanks, I placed an order with Tonetronix for the B-Buff.

After calling and have David set me straight on wiring it up this has been working great! My amp really doesn't need an external compressor but the Tone Press makes a great clean boost. Last weekend I jammed for about 8 hours straight at my brother's farm and it was really cool being able to kick in some serious boost when I wanted to make my lead heard.
