I did a little chip swapping in my LTD SR and settled on a Burr Brown for it. I also dialed up a bit more bass and presence and it's like getting a whole new pedal. Really sounds great by itself and stacked with my Timmy pedal.

Interesting, Thazy

The LTD SR is the only pedal I haven't messed around with (yet!)

Which particular BB chip is floating your boat?

It's the OPA2604AP. I got it from Small Bear a few years ago. It's sounds great in a Direct Drive too.

I love this freaking pedal.

I used the LTD SR quite a bit on these artist's recordings: http://www.myspace.com/mikenixguitar

Lastly, I had Ronnie and company install a mod board recently. It added a lot of cool options including gain boost and clipping options; the pedal is even better!

Okay, it's been over three months now. Lots of practices and six or seven gigs. This is a great pedal. I still find myself leaving it on all the time to just sweeten the squeeky clean tone of the amps with the gain around 15 to 20%. It goes great with the other pedals. If I was electronically inclined, I'd build it into the amp and make it permanent!

David Barber wrote:I always refer to the LTD SR as the "call your bluff overdrive", why? Because a standard LTD v2 will fatten up and enhance a guitar that is not "perfect" in its tonal presentation (or make single notes bigger), especially the top end, the SR does not attempt to "fatten" or re-EQ your guitar, what goes in, pretty much comes out, except with added harmonics and sustain, so the guitar better be up to the job, if you love every bit of the sound of your guitar, then the SR is magic! If your guitar sounds less then sweet on top, or you use really light strings, then probably go for the LTD v2. :D

That is awesome, David! You are 100% correct. I LOVE my guitar tone and the LTD SR just adds a perfect OD to THAT TONE that I love!

A friend claimed he loved his guitar tone. He plugged into my rig and said, "eh it's missing something in the mids". Pedal off, there was still mids missing

Ordering another one shortly! Need a pedalboard since 100+ pound rack rig isn't suitable to more and more settings recently and no other OD pedal will do! BRAVO!

Got my LTD SR today and all I can say is ....Sweeet!

My Les Paul sounds great into this pedal it's doing exactly as described, love how I can keep it as pure as my clean tone and add grit and still sound unchanged it also makes the middle position on my LP more enjoyable to play seeing how I hardly use the middle position but i think that is about to change!

I'm glad to hear things are going well with the SR, the balance always works well with Humbuckers. Speaking of humbuckers; What is a "Dimarzio 36th Anniversary PAF"? That seems interesting!
