Barber Custom Cool compared to LTD SR w/mod PCB

Hi folks! - 1ST POST!!!

I have a Custom Cool, it's great but now I'm loving all things Barber :D , I have 4 Barber ODs now.

I love 'tweaker' pedals and the CC fits the bill. I see there is the LTD SR with mod board available and I was wondering how close and how different it and the Custom Cool are? FWIW I generally run the CC with both push pull knobs out, Snarl EQ and Crunch mode. It gives me much more midrange lift, I run Fender amps with single coils.

Things I am esp curious about the LTD SR w/mod board is the compression level, gain level and mids. Is either more 'amp-like' than the other? And finally which is smoother and/or which is more crunchy?

Thanks in advance as always.

LTD SR is a little smoother, with the ability to go a little higher in gain with the MOD PCB, mids are nearly the same.

Thanks for response David! and Happy Holidays! :)

I went ahead yesterday and purchased an LTD SR PCB and on my 1st impression, I agree it has a smoother tone, I love it though and will definitely enjoy this pedal. Sounds great right out of the box.

I normally don't go for the 4558 anymore these days, I usually swap that out for Burr-Brown, a TL702 or a JRC4559 but I was surprised that the 4558 sounded pretty good in this pedal! The Custom Cool has a JRC072BD which is ?the equivalent of the TL702 I imagine?

Standard 072 that I like. Don't get too wound up about chips, the internet makes more out of it than actually exists. There are differences and preferences per-circuit, but you can't look at a chip and decide how it sounds. They are linear, but I see endless people claim a 4558 has a "mid hump". :D
