DIY bypass pedal

Postby jacobaf105 » Sun May 23, 2010 1:37 pm

Call me crazy but seems like I remember reading somewhere on the net that you can use a "pot" for a dimmer for led's on pedals instead of useing a limiting resister. I cant seem to find the thread but can anyone clear this up for me? I would like to use this on my own diy bypass pedal if this will work.

thanks

This should, in theory, work. However, I'd put a resistor on there anyway (in addition to the variable resistor potentiometer). The pot would still allow you to adjust the brightness, but the resistor will protect the LED from getting too much power.
