epoxy on circuit boards

Postby Andy cowman » Thu Feb 17, 2011 3:24 pm

Ive seen a few pedals recently that have epoxy resin all over the circuit boards and I was just wondering why they did this? Seems to be a bad idea from a servicing point of view!

I guess most pedal makers that put epoxy on there do this to make it difficult to reverse engineer their pedal because it's a) something completely new and they've spent quite a long time to design this or b) a clone of something else while claiming it is not.
