A Barber Biography?

Postby fatteletom » Wed May 13, 2009 11:38 am

I don't know if this would be of interest to anyone else, but I'd love to hear from David a bit about how Barber Electronics came to be.

How'd you end up doing what you do?

Might be fun to hear a bit about your musical journey too. What fired your interest in chasing (and sharing with others) great guitar tones?

That is not a bad idea, it will take me a little time to get a bio together. I should probably add one to my site, so this will be a little motivation. I hope to have some shop pics when we get our new shop finished.

Your Glendale/Small fry combo sounds nice on your sig sound file! I really appreciate seeing the sound files on members signatures, I hope we can keep the concept of a "players Forum" going! Sound files help immensely to hear what a player is going for and really impacts making proper gear/setting suggestions...thank you!

I'll start working on that bio. :)

Cool, looking forward to it.

Regarding clips, glad you enjoyed.

And I agree that context really is important when it comes to evaluating comments about gear.

You often see conflicting comments about a pedal or amp, and are left scratching your head as to how opinions could vary so widely. What's missing is the knowledge that player X is shooting for a hair-metal thing with active pickups, player Y is looking for gritty blues with a Tele, and player Z couldn't actually fret a note cleanly if his life depended on it. 8-)

All of which is why the idea of basing this forum around clips and detailed information is pretty neat
