Special Recipe LTD

Here's a video clip where I use a PRS DGT (David Grissom model) into a Barber Special Recipe LTD into a Crate VTX200S (yes, it's solid state, clean channel only) miked with a SM57.

All of my demo clips were recorded the same way, although some of the higher gain clips utilized a Barber Direct Drive SS. The amp settings and mic placement are always the same.

I never gig or travel without my Barber pedals! :D

I lust for a DGT. I played one for the first time last week, those pickups are amazing you guys at PRS came up with. They 'pop' as a tele would, but definitely have a PAF character. Opened my thinking regarding higher output pickups.

I can get great sounds out of SS amps at my local guitar shops with my barber stuff too, they translate well from tube to SS technology.

Thanks for the kind words, but at the end of the day it really comes down to those magic Barber boxes, tone for days. Btw, I'm really digging the Dirty Bomb, but it may be the worse named pedal for going through airport security. I can tell that David hasn't flown for a while. It really does sound great, lots of useable colors! :P

David Grissom and Paul Smith spent a ton of time dialing those pickups in, I think the results speak for themselves. Btw, Grissom has a Barber Special Recipe or two in his arsenal. :)
