plan-x wrote:"Kind of lounge", say like rock n roll lounge. Not Rat Pack lounge. I'm listening to your covers now and see why you were a little surprised by my comment. I initially only listened to the originals or what I believed to be so, the last 3 songs. I don't care for covers, original stuff tells me who you are.
As for lounge sound, sometimes before my band plays, we will do an instumental killing some time til the starting time. We don't want to be loud or noticed, so I instruct the guys to play lounge like. might do a well known cover, but with a different feel.
Yeah....I can see how one could listen to the last three tracks and come to that conclusion. Actually, the last four tracks were created for Groudmin Entertainment and Sony Music for a documentary on PBS back in 2003. It's a powerful and very well made documentary about "Dreams". (I plan to find & post the right link for the film in the near future)
About the covers - I was asked by Retrospect Records to do an instrumental collection of my personal favorite guitarists of the late 60s, 70s (Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Robin Trower, SRV, Gary Moore, Clapton...etc) for a CD that they were planning for release. Sort of a personal "TRIBUTE" with a twist. Not sure of the details on this project at this time. I have some other Rocker Guitar releases on their label.
As a 'old touring road dog' (w/Buddy Miles Band and Riki Hendrix Band) and for the last 12 years, a session guitarist for hundreds of recorded tracks for film and tv & jingles- it's a bit hard to put a label on it....imo.
I suppose I need to update the music on that link.
Anyway- Barber Electronics are outstanding!!! -
