Radio signals :(

Postby southpaw pete » Thu Dec 01, 2011 11:11 pm

Hey guys,
I've got a few different Barbers - an LTD v2, Half Gainer and Direct Drive. I love the sound of all of them, but am having issues with the Half Gainer and Direct Drive. At home they are all fine, but when playing at my church (where I play the most), the Direct Drive and Half Gainer are picking up radio signals and noise quite badly. The LTD doesn't have any noise issues however. I am just wondering what could be causing it in the other two but not the LTD.

When I put a Visual Sound pedal in front of them they quiet down considerably (VS has built in an R/F filter in their buffer evidently). But I don't always need my VS pedals on my board, and don't want to have to keep a pedal on there just for the buffer, especially if there is a way to simply fix the "issues."

Any thoughts or advice?
Thanks!

Input cable or guitar shielding, nearly 100% of the time. Every radio needs and antenna, poor shields on guitar cables are perfect for the job.

Thanks, David!
I will try some different cables and see what happens.
But why would some pedals be really affected by it (my Direct Drive) and not others (my LTD). Just curious.
Cheers!
