Hello David & Ronni and anyone else from the Barber family!
I guess new people on the forum always start off wanting some advice so here's my cry from the UK....
I play single coil Fenders mainly into a 1980's Fender Super Champ. At the moment I'm running through a standard Direct Drive and of course it sounds great (you probably knew that) but I'm looking for the option of playing rhythm through a mild, jangly overdrive with a slightly mid-rangey tone and then being able to kick a boost for any lead lines (tuneful solos - not gratuitous widdling!) - pretty basic fare and that's all I need.
Having read millions of great reviews about the LTD I have been sorely tempted to get one and partner it with my Direct Drive however I'm wondering if you have ever considered sticking a mid range trim pot inside the LTD to go with the bass and presence trim pots? I like the look of the LTD but might like the option of giving it a mid range punch.
You may tell me that that is where the new Half Gainer comes in but I also note that the 2 channels on that share the tone & mid controls. Therefore, am I looking more at a Dual Discrete and if I am, then what pedal would you pair with the LTD to give me what I'm looking for? Another LTD perhaps?
Great forum by the way chaps!
Cheers in advance
