new guy here need some help

Postby jacobaf105 » Mon Apr 05, 2010 4:44 am

hello all, I am not sure what pedals I need here is what I need. I would like to even out my string, and need a little clean boost. I would also like to add some grit to my tone.So I was thinking about a Tone Press and getting a LTD SR and maybe a Direct Drive. I play mostly country and blues. I am not sure if it matters but I am using a rack system for my amp setup, I think I have a great tubish tone that is warm.

Oh and its still great to see something still made in U.S.A

Thanks

I'd recommend an LTD SR for the "grit", that way you keep some "snap" for country and blues. As for clean boost, we have a TRUE clean boost called the Launch Pad that will stay undistorted up to about 20db.

I second David's recommendation of the LTD-SR for country and blues "grit" & "snap." I notice that you also mentioned "even out my strings", and that's exactly what the Tone Press does very well. I think that with a Tone Press and LTD-SR you could get a killer combination of clean country (TP only), gritty country (both pedals on), and blues (LTD-SR only).

Yeah, the Tone pump is definitely doable. It's a 2fer pedal. I use the green ch for the same thing I use the LTDsr for. The base tone one of my rigs. Then I use the red ch for the medium gain stuff. The price is right and it's going to be discontinued. I am very glad I own one. I use a Small fry in conjunction with my LTDsr. Great combo. The SF would probably sound great with those 15's you got. IMO it sounds better with lots of 12's and even better with a pair 15's.
