Direct Drive half-gainer

Postby Jon » Tue Apr 13, 2010 8:58 am

Any plans for a Direct Drive version of the half gainer i.e. one pedal with two switchable level and drive settings, rather than the two-separate-pedals-in-a-box approach of the dual discrete pedals?

...I've been thinking that a DD-SS / DD-LG combo would be a killer pedal, but then again that's what the B-Custom Dual Discrete is for. If I ever find a few extra Benjamin Franklin's laying around (yeah, that'll happen--right?) that's what I'd order.

Maybe we will have a Dual Direct Drive (same version both channels) late this year. People seem to want the dual DD, then again people want a dual discrete DD with tap gain, effect loops in a 1"x1"x1" enclosure with all jacks on top and midi control with "sparkling clean" to "Dirty Bomb full max gain" all on the volume knob of the guitar, for $89. :D

That's hilarious... And can you make the LED glow brighter for hi-gain, dimmer for lo-gain settings?

If you can squeeze a tap-tempo tape delay unit in there as well, I'd be willing to accept a 2"x2" box and would even pay as much as $99!

I have been absolutely loving my Half Gainer! It is such a great pedal.
I've been looking into another Barber to add to it... (my only other Barber right now is an LTD) so I've been thinking about either the regular Direct Drive or Super Sport, and was thinking how nice a Direct Drive Half Gainer would be as well (and an external mids control and similar cool graphics like the 1/2G would be sweet too).

I'd think late summer for the Direct Drive DC. We have some catching up to do after many months of not producing pedals.
