Quick questions with regards to the Barber DD pedals -

Have been through 2 Barber DD pedals, a hand written model and a 2008 DD model (silkscreened?). Didn't quite dig the 2008 DD, felt fizzy in the high freqs even after adjusting internal trim pots, just couldn't gel with it. Was also very choosy with amps, sounded good with solid states but funky through tube amps (to my novice ears sadly). However, I really really like the handwritten DD model, sounds great and really organic =)

Qn 1) What's the latest version of the DD, and does it differ from the 2008 DD?

Qn 2) How different does a DDSS sound compared to a normal DD?

I am playing a '62 Tele Deluxe into a Barber Tone Press -> NOC3 Earth Tone Boost -> Handwritten Barber DD -> Fender Princeton Reverb. Style of music would be post rock/rock. Will post up some sound clips tmr! TIA for any and all help + comments!

PS: Am a great fan of the Barber Pedals. Thank you for your talent Mr David Barber!

I just picked up the older version DDSS w/ the mid mod from a friend who didn't care for it much....and I have to say holy crap!!! What a great tone this thing has. I love this pedal-almost as much as the small fry. (ALMOST)- 8-)

What years were these produced? I am new with the Barber stuff.....but, I already have a few. I'm addicted to this amazing Barber tone!!! It's like a fever.....I know...I know....more cowbell.

Thanks David & Ronni - you guys are my hero's!!!!

Do you have the textured blue finish, or is it smooth?
