Don't forget to explore the low side of the gain knob with the EQ knobs set below noon, there is some surprising stuff there too.

The Dirty Bomb arrived and has been detonated. With statements like that, homeland security will now be monitoring this forum. :o After 20 min of playing, the velcro went on and the rubber feet came off. It's a keeper. Just what I have been looking for these last couple of years. I had my doubts thinking it was a recto in a box. But it's more of a Crunch Box replacement to me, which I unloaded a couple of years ago due to excessive fizz. It does a pretty convincing Petrucci modern sound, so it's got some recto in it. I really wanted a classic shredder, and this baby does it. Pretty versatile actually. You could set up 4 of em on a board covering the "low/mid/high/ & scooped high gamut. But don't do that when there's plenty of Barber flavors to taste. ;)

Congratulations! I can still remember the first time I got the DB. In less than a minute, I knew it was the pedal for me. It's the closest pedal to what I'm trying to achieve.

And yeah it can get that Mesa-Petrucci sound! Thank you David for this pedal! I actually want to buy another one out of love.

Finally got a DB. Wasn't sure how it would work with my strat pups being 4.3, 4.6, and 5.0K, but it's fine !

David, I like it as you say, keeping the controls below noon. I still need to tweak the bass trim inside. My amp is a tad dark and has bass to spare. A 15" as well. I'll keep in mind what you mentioned about setting it to cut through a mix and bump it sparingly.
Squier CV 50's upgraded with Callaham, Klein, CTS, and Switchcraft parts.
Barber Launch Pad- Dirty Bomb - Barb E.Q.-Tone Press- MXR Carbon Copy
Sano Combo Amp c.1960 or so (2 x EL34)

Crate CA 60D amp
Gibson J 150 acoustic

Those tone controls always surprise me with the balances I can get depending on how or low I set them, I always start with the bass control and then bring up the treble to balance it out...I get pretty aggressive with the bass at times (like maxed out!). I'm a a nut for versatility, I like to be able to completely change my mind about what I wanted from a pedal and still be able to find it within the same box, even when I have slightly unrealistic goals. :D
