Telecaster forum, HC when I want to get hit with arbitrary shrapnel, Musictoyz, TPNgear. I ditched TGP a while ago, in my opinion the overreaching, inept moderators killed that place.

I still go to TGP, although alot of the stuff out there is pretty ridiculous. Since I am big into DIY I frequent madbeanpedals quite a bit.

I got to Musictoyz, Tonefactor, and the Dr Z forums and post to all three. I do visit TGP once in a while but, usually don't post there.

That's a very nice thread! I like many of the people who are members of TGP. One of the last posts quoted me as saying I left because "I got tired of defending my designs", not true, it was strictly due to the creepy moderator issues. I never mind discussing my designs in a fair manner, even with people who may be skeptical about an aspect of my work. I really appreciated that thread, thanks for posting the link!

Well brother, you deserve it. People who think great gear just appears at the store, without someone sweating it out and contributing serious insight and even genius to the process, are idiots.

I have my own issues with the moderators and yes, overreaching is a good word in many ways and I'll leave it at that.

But you were a real resource on there and I hope you come back at some point.

My dislike of the place stems from when I was buying my Anderson a few years ago. I asked a few questions with regard to wood selection and pick up choice and basically got 22 bullshit replies.
So that was it I sacked it off. Seems to me theres alot of brand snobbery on there.

Seems like I may have to make another venture over judging by the decent replies in the above link.

There's so many people that it's very possible to ask the same question on different days and get a totally different set of responses, quality-wise.

I have found that reverse-snobbery:

"I'm so excruciatingly hip and authentic, oh so much more than any of YOU, because I use off-the-rack-at-the-music-store gear, rather than any O' that boo-teek stuff".

to be much more common than brand snobbery actually.

We seem to get one of those horrible, self-congratulatory go-rounds once a week. Oh, then then there's the "where is tone" debate....
