Trifecta Q's

I haven't had a Fuzz pedal since 1980 or so, had a Big Muff..wonder what ever happened to that pedal


Anyways, I read on the forums that fuzz pedals don't "get along" well with other pedals because many have a positive ground thing going on.

So I'm thinking of getting the Barber Trifecta. Lotsa features, cool tones. Will it play nice with my other pedals? Do I have to put it first in the chain?

For the record I am using BBE Supa-Charger power supplies with individual isolated outputs. I also have a Wampler "Clean Buffer" first in the chain. I would be cool if the Trifecta could go somewhere AFTER the Clean Buffer...

Right now, mine is last in my dirt chain right before a booster pedal then, delay and chorus. Only because I use my Tone Press and my Sliver LTD more and don't have the room on the board up front. I have had no issues with other pedals and the Trifecta. In fact, I like having a booster right after it for solos.

The Trifecta "plays well with others", same power as most pedals (9 volts - tip), no issues with buffers...plug'n-play!

Can we revisit the previous question

? My Trifecta seems to be working correctly, and yet I can hear absolutely no difference between the three toggle switch positions.

Set your amp "perfectly clean", set the Trifecta tone control to "center", now set the sludge control to "max", try switching the toggle while hitting an open "A" chord...can you hear it now? If not please report to "nuts and Bolts" section for a tutorial when i get time... I had made the tutorial on the old forum, but it was lost with whatever problem happened there, and there was no back up.

I'll set a week aside to get some of the "how to" stuff back up online.

Thanks. I gave your procedure a try. Tele through Trifecta to SF Champ with vol. on 3. I hear no difference between the toggle switch positions. I can cycle through the toggle switch positions as the chord is sustaining, and I don't hear that the switch has any effect at all.

A SF Champ is far from the ultimate amp to take advantage of the Trifecta. Even with a nicer speaker, it farts out pretty fast and gets into "fuzz territory" on it's own.
