Can the half gainer replace the Barb EQ for this app ...

Postby vintage saddles » Tue Jul 05, 2011 9:55 am

I have a small board compared to a lot people and am wanting to make some room and hopefully use the Half Gainer to replace the LTD SR and the Barb EQ. What I like about the Barb EQ is that it warms up and softens the tone of my amp, which has zero tone controls. I keep it in the left toggle position with all knobs pointing at 11 o'clock.

Going to probably try it for myself and see, but am wondering if the midrange control on the Half Gainer can accomplish what I'm doing with the EQ. Obviously there is a "tone stack" factor at work with the EQ also, which is a great device that I've sold off once already only to buy another.
Telecaster, Strat, J-45, Les Paul Jr. Amp
Janglebox, LTD SR, Mojo Hand Sugarbaby, Maxon AD-999, Barb EQ

No, the 1/2 Gainer will not replace the Barb EQ for this function.
