Custom Cool compared to the Small Fry / LTD SR

Postby MullyFX » Sat Oct 22, 2011 11:20 am

heya,

since they both seem to have much in common I thought I'd ask if anyone has compared both of them and can tell me the differences
is the Custom Cool related to the Small Fry.... do they sound similar?
same question for the LTD SR ?

is this Custom Cool "just" a clever mixture of both pedals?

thanks,
mully

There is like nothing on the CC, except our very own ringmod's demo.

thanks.... but just from watching his videos I think the LTD SR is more up my alley....

the tone on the Custom Cool video is kinda harsh (that's not to say it's the pedal... might just be the camera)
the LTD SR however sounds AMAZING....

thanks,
mully

I just drove to the shop and tested the Custom Cool....
unfortunately they didn't have a LTD SR there so I couldn't compare them....

it's a great little pedal and the dynamics knob alone makes it really versatile.
the dynamics knob seems to be different to the dynamics knob on the small fry though...
turning it counter clockwise not only increases compression the sound also got rougher....

the push pull knobs didn't make THAT much of a difference
(they were different but I guess I expected a bigger change in sound and character)
changing the clipping modes for example is a bigger difference than changing from smooth to crunchy.

what I REALLY liked was how transparent the pedal is....

im really interested in the LTD SR now though.... but I guess I'll have to wait until I can try it.

The LTDsr is a plug and play kind of pedal. But the Custom cool is a plug and play with pedal.
