Bass-friendly Barber Pedals

Postby caeman » Fri Dec 23, 2011 10:43 am

The Linden EQ is obviously bass friendly. I have experienced the friendliness of the Trifecta and Launch Pad with my bass. The Dirty Bomb needs a little tweaking, but seems to do a good job. What other pedals in the Barber line-up are friendly with bass? By friendly, I am referring to preserving the low end bass frequencies. I was thinking of adding a low gain drive from the pedal choices to the board and I am looking for some opinions.

The LTD SR works well, the Custom Cool is nice and has lots of tweaky controls. :)

The LTD and LTD SR look the same. How can one tell the difference when looking at people's used listings?

I think I may have finally an LTD SR. A guy on HCFX had one up and I made a trade offer, giving up an MXR Zakk Wylde OD and Phase 90. I should know by the end of the day.

And now I see a reference to the Unlimited dual-channel model. Interesting.

I just got a 5 string bass and I ran it through my DDLG and it sounded pretty darn good. All the frequencies were intact and it added a nice growl without an artificial distortion. Very natural sounding. Ran it through a 18"/2x10 cab.

Direct Drive LG, eh? If this trade falls through, I will check into it. Well, I will check into no matter what. Having plenty of low gain options is never a bad thing.
