Half-Gainer....WOW!!!

Postby steam-powered » Sun Aug 05, 2012 3:01 pm

Finally spent about three straight hours last night with my new Half-Gainer. Took me about five minutes to figure out how to switch from volume/gain 1 and 2 (the red LED can be lit even when the pedal is off, that was initially confusing to me. Also, I figured that red LED referred to vol/gain 2, but after reading the manual I learned it's the opposite). YET, once I realized what the various LED's signify, I was in absolute heaven all night!

The Half-Gainer is, without question, my new favorite pedal. The ONLY pedal that's even better than my old LTD. The mid knob provides such a useful range. Dialing it totally counter-clockwise was perfect to push my TS808 clone (Pedalworx Tejas) for SRV tones with single coils into a blackface amp. Also, dialing the mid past noon allowed me to have the familiar LTD tones I use for jazz with humbuckers, while totally clockwise was amazing for rocking on the tweed. Without doubt, this is my new "desert isle" pedal.

Good to hear your 1/2 Gainer is working well for you, thanks for the update!

The LED swap is most likely due to a color-blind person writing the manual. :o That would be me  We have the manual corrected now, thanks!
