The B-Custom B-Buff is an incredibly flexible and useful audio device, that can boost and buffer your signal at the same time. The B-Buff install in most true bypass pedals, often space for the B-Buff can be found on the battery compartment or if the pedal has "extra space". The B-Buff is often used to add a buffer to a pedalboard without taking up any additional space (installs in pedal), or to build a dedicated "amp cooker" to better gain stage your guitar rig.
There are five places in your pedal's signal chain that you can install the B-Buff:
The term "drives" can refer to buffer or boost here.
1. After the input jack (between jack & footswitch), this places the B-Buff before your pedal circuit and in the bypass too.
2. Between footswitch and pedal circuit, the B-Buff drives only the pedal circuit. This is great for adding my gain to OD pedals.
3. In the bypass, here the B-Buff is only in the circuit during pedal bypass. This is the most common install to add a buffered or boosted bypass.
4. Between the circuit output and footswitch, this drives strictly the output of the pedal circuit. The is useful for to give greater output to a weak pedal circuit, or add a buffer to a circuit's output.
5. Between the footswitch and output jack, this drives the output of the pedal circuit and is active during bypass too.
The B-Buff is also the lowest priced B-Custom product.
