Vox ac15cc, there is only one channel. New tubes, all JJ's. The master is up all the way, no trem or rev, bass and treble 12 oclock, volume 7oclock. As clean as it can be. The first part of the clip is w/o Small Fry, then you hear I hit the switch. I repeat this process once.
Speaker is the stock Wharfedale, but I swapped out a 2-12 Celestion V30 16 ohm cab and there was no difference.
I said "only one pedal on". I should have said there is only one pedal connected. I took everything else out of the chain to be sure. I also tried powering with 9v from the voodoo but there was no difference. The only thing I haven't tried is a 9v battery because I don't have one in the house.
The recording was made with an iphone which I held in my left hand while strumming the guitar with my right, approximately 3 feet from amp. The sound level was quite modest, probably louder than bedroom, but nowhere near loud enough to for rehearsal or gig.
I've had this for at least 4 years and this I never noticed. And in the past I've used the pedal, albeit rarely, for a sort of cleanish boost. But my normal settings are everything at 12 oclock with HB's, Burn at 2oclock with SC's.
So, the sound as it appears, is that fizz normal for the Small Fry?
Thank you for your help on this.
